Equity Partner Shana L. Vitek and Nadalie G. Ponce of Beermann LLP were joined by Phil Mohr, Deputy Director of Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS), and the Honorable Judge Regina Scannicchio to speak with our attorneys about access to justice in domestic relations. The discussion explored the critical roles that courts, private practitioners, and pro bono advocacy play in expanding access to legal services.

They also highlighted the Beermann Family Law Clinic, established in partnership with CVLS and now approaching its third year. With family law matters comprising 17% of CVLS’s caseload, the clinic has significantly expanded access to legal support for individuals and families who might otherwise be unable to afford representation, making a meaningful impact across the Chicagoland community.

In recognition of her exceptional contributions, Shana Vitek was honored as a 2024 and 2025 Honor Roll Awardee at the CVLS Law & Disorder events. This distinction is awarded to individuals who demonstrate outstanding dedication and go above and beyond in their service to the clinic.
